What is the difference between an audio and linear taper?
I'm looking to buy some potentiometers to test but what is the difference of audio and linear tapers?
mmk so you mean exponential in 10s, probably better to go with linear since I'm working with circuit bending. This is just alternative to using body contacts and would help a lot more.

A linear pot is just that. If it is a 4k pot, then at the half way point, it will measure around 2,000 ohms.
Audio (hearing) is not linear, but logarithmic, so the pot behaves in the same way.
