SILVER VS BRASS TRUMPET PLEASE HELP?
hi i am getting a Bach TR200 Series Bb Trumpet and i have a choice between brass and silver which one should i get? i heard the silver fades fast and i also heard the silver sounds better which one ? thanks in advance. and also if anyone has this kind of trumpet can you please tell me about it?
Nice choice by the way, great instrument. I own both a brass trumpet and a silver trumpet. My brass i got first, my first trumpet. I worked great until i grew out of it until i couldn't excel any more with it. So I got my silver trumpet 2nd hand. What I found out is with my silver trumpet. My sound quality improved so much. And usually silver trumpets allow for a more free blowing sound. and it has a brighter tone, but you can also change the tone with a different mouthpiece. such as a silver trumpet, with a 10 1/2C Bach, you will have a very bright sound. but a silver trumpet with a 3C Bach, you will have a darker warmer tone. If I were you I would try one of each, and pick which one you prefer. in the end its up to you. and with the fading, is that the brass trumpet i have had for 7 years has almost no, fading, and my silver trumpet is about 20 years old, and there is fading where the hands were. and he kept that trumpet as clean as he could. its just from where the hands on the trumpet.
