Trumpet Mouthpiece. Apart from storage, changing or cleaning it, are there other good reasons to remove it?
I have a flexible case, and can just leave the mouthpiece in the trumpet. Is that OK?
I would suggest not leaving the MP in the horn. Since you have a flexible case, all it takes is a small bump or short drop to do some damage to your instrument. Having the MP in does not make things any better, as you can get it stuck in the leadpipe and possibly do some damage to the MP receiver. Besides, it only takes about five seconds to take the MP out of the horn.
