Why are debt collectors such jerks ?
A debt collector keeps calling my house because my sister "did something " . I'm not really sure what she did with her credit card but the phone kept ringing and I picked up.
He asked me for her mobile phone # and when I refused and asked him what this is in regards to he yelled at me " It's none of your business "
Obviously he's not very bright if he thinks he's gonna get any info out of me. Why do debt collectors use intimidation tactics ? Do they really think people are going to comply by being jerks ?
Unfortunately sometimes the fear factor does work on most people, but the fact that you are getting calls for your sister's credit issues is what really needs to get resolved. The whole story is unknown to me so my suggestion is to talk to your sister about it so that the collectors no longer call your number. If you keep getting phone calls then you need to be clear with them that your sister can't be reached at this number and not call her on your number anymore. If you think about it, your sister's credit issues are really not your business or else she would have spoken to you about it already. You need to get yourself out of the middle man role. Good luck!
