Is learning to play the flute hard?
I have never played a musical instrument. A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to learn how to play atleast one musical instrument. The flute has always been my favorite.
So my question is: If the flute is you're first ever instrument learning how to play, will you have a rough experience and have extreme difficulty?
Has anyone ever played it?
Flute isn't hard to play at all! I love playing flute and have done so for years, (though admittedly a little out of practice recently 
)
But out of all woodwind instruments I think the flute it probably one of the easier ones to try. Just keep in mind the hardest thing to learn is forming the mouth to get a decent sound. You'll struggle in the beginning, but most instruments do have a bit a learning curve. No beginner guitarist will be able to get a great sound out on the first try.
It sounds... twangy.
Just as your first sound will be a bit... windy.
But don't worry about it! If you struggle, just keep at it.
Because you have to blow, to get a sound, you'll notice your mouth will start to ache in the beginning. especially around the corners and you'll have to practice your stomach muscles to expand the length of your breath.
All these things will come with time and patience, but of all the instruments to choose from I think the flute is the best one to start out with. The notes are simple and after only a few months and a good few practices you'll be able to play you're favorite songs no problem!
