Why does my acoustic guitar sound better in Standard tuning instead of full step down?
It seems like it has a more clear and brighter sound when it's tuned Standard instead of full step down.I'm just wondering if any guitar players out there know why this is.
I used Full step down because it made certain songs easier to sing.
Because they are at a specific tension. And the neck of your guitar was made for that specific tension. It's best for your guitar if you keep it at standard tuning. Plus, you play acoustic. The strings are at a higher gauge than electric strings...so that could play into the problem as well. But why do you need to be a whole step down for acoustic? That kind of tuning is really only used for heavy metal
Ohhh okay. Well maybe try getting lower gauge strings?
