Heater sticks on hot over 50mph in Ford Ka.?
I have a Ford Ka, (2002). I have just had a new heater valve and thermostat housing fixed as my heating wasnt working. I can now turn the heater from cold to hot, and back to cold fine when I am driving slowly, or stationary. However the problem is, if i am doing over 50mph the heater will not go back down to cold - so I got stuck on the motorway with the heater on for an hour yesterday.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
It sounds like you do not have cooling fans running, or you may have a defective (new) thermostat. Have you checked to see that your coolant level is at the proper level when your engine is too hot?
I would suggest you take your Ford back to the repair shop that did your recent heater valve and thermost replacement and COMPLAIN.
