Is a Huntington sunburst 41 acoustic guitar good for a beginner?
I want to get my boyfriend a guitar for his birthday. I'm only 18 so i don't have a big budget. He said he just wants something he can learn on and if he likes playing he'll get something nicer. So would that be a good beginner guitar?
or would an Indiana Dakota acoustic guitar be better? I know nothing about guitars...
I wouldn't go with either. The no-name brands are usually much harder to play and tune. I would try to save up an extra $50 and go with something from a bigger company. It makes a huge difference and it will be something he will want to play. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to learn music on something that won't play in tune. Ordering online is risky too, because you don't get to try it before hand. If you go to a music store, you can play all the frets and see if any buzz, and you can compare playing the open strings to playing them on the 12the fret (the double dot) and see if they sound the same. If they sound different, it means the guitar can't ever be tuned correctly.
