which is usually used for balloons when it comes oboe reeds?
I do not really know what it is. someone Can he tell me? and how to use?
Skin's balloons (sometimes also called "fish skin) is the outer membrane a calf intestine. I am more familiar with him regarding the bushes. This thing is very scalable, but incredibly strong and almost impossible to puncture. They give a clarinet (or oboe) sound a bit brighter than lining leather, but they last 10 times longer. It is also very resistant to moisture. Regarding oboe reeds, you can use to seal leaks reeds. The 2 sides of the double reed get linked together, then drag in the instrument ... but sometimes they do not come together right there and leaks. (You probably know all this.) Balloons or plumbers Teflon tape all work two stop release of new, robust, scalable and resistant to moisture. Hope this helped! 
EDIT: The problem with balloons, as far as pads go, that I discovered they could get sticky ... if you end up doing the paper powder to trick a ticket dollar just about every time you play ... and when it falls apart, he bursts into layers. I guess this would be the same for an oboe reed, if has never lasted long enough.
