Can anybody recommend for me a good distortion/boost pedal for a vintage Silverface Twin Reverb?
I am planning on buying a vintage Fender Twin Reverb from a local music store. As you may already know, however, this is a very clean amp. I was looking for some suggestions as to what type of pedal i should get to get a nice overdrive tone while still maintaining some of the wonderful characters of the amp.
P.S. I play a stratocaster
Twin Reverb is a really clean amp. The Tube screamer is good and if you ant to control the distortion more. get the Boss DS-1 Disotrtion. You will get a nice clean sustain with it especially with the Stratocaster.
Also, if you do add a disotrion and you need more bite. Lower the Master volume on the Twin and turn the Gain or Volume uo to 8. That is one way of pushing the pre-amp and get the tubes to rock a little more
