Where can I find a neck for a Keilwerth ST90 III model soprano saxophone?
I found this soprano that I want to buy, however, it doesn't come with a neck or a mouthpiece. I just want to be sure that I can purchase a neck from somewhere before I buy the soprano. Thanks for any help!
After market necks are not impossible to get, but they can get very expensive. By reputation the highest quality aftermarket necks are those made by Karsten Gloger under the Gloger brand; these are expensive, but are custom-fitted for various models (the ST90 III soprano is one of them at a price tag of roughly $675- see first link below). I could not find any other aftermarket source save for those in the second link; these are much cheaper ($50 and less) but are more or less blanks fitted for a Selmer; if your receiver is slightly larger, the tenon could be resized by most competent repair techs, but if your receiver is smaller, the neck could not work unless the receiver were resized (a risky maneuver in my opinion).
If you can somehow get a Selmer neck to try it on the Keilwerth, by all means do so to see if the less expensive neck could be viable. Best wishes in your pursuit of a good playing soprano saxophone.
