Selmer Bundy Clarinet Barrel and Serial Number?
I purchased a Selmer Bundy Wooden b flat Clarinet for my daughter. Where can I find an original replacement wood barrel? I also would like to know more about the instrument: i.e. When manufactured. It is stamped Selmer Bundy on the bell. The serial number is 65001. I have looked online and am not sure. Thank you!
Sorry. I have searched all of the sites I could find listing Bundy, Selmer or a combination of both and have had no luck. I have also searched the boards here and the sites I have found don't help.
With that serial number, it would have been made in 1956. As for the barrel, like the previous answerer said, go to a reputable music store in your area. They should be able to help you track one down. When it comes in, make sure it fits your instrument before you pay for it. It should fit, especially if it's from a Bundy, but you just want to make 100% sure. You may also want to have an experienced clarinetist play on it as well, just to make sure that it will play in tune. Some barrels will have small imperfections that can change the intonation and make it more difficult to play in tune.
