Sets Electric
Have any of you tried electronic drum sets?
I have been playing the guitar for a few years, I have always had a greater interest in the drums, but I always have lived in apartments, so the land lords would not let me buy a drum set. I was thinking about buying an electric set, are they realistic, and worth the money? Have any of you ever used them? Any feedback would be appreciated , thank you.
I'm a drummer and my roommate a couple years ago was also a drummer with an electric set. We lived in an apartment and the only complaints he got was noise from the foot pedal. It shook the ceiling below us.
Anyway, you should go to your local drum shop or guitar center and try out various sets. I have been fortunate enough to always have my acoustic kit but I will eventually have to buy an e-kit when I move into an apt when I graduate.
E-kits have different types of heads on them. Some are mesh and others have solid plastic(think the rock band set). You get a different rebound with a different type of head. Personally, I like mesh heads because it makes less noise.
