Stepfather on drugs...still..?
I found his stash of crack this summer in our basement while I was cleaning. After three months of knowing what he was doing I confronted my mother. He promised that he wouldnt ever do it again. I found tin foil a week later...again he promised that he wouldnt ever do it again. I was just downstairs writing a paper and noticed some tin foil hanging out of his duffel bag. I looked inside and found more crack. Now I feel like shit...I have tried to tell my mother that he wont stop on his own and she said he did quite. I cant tell her because nothing will change. I dont want to breakup the family, but I dont want my little brother to go through that too...I feel terrible and hopeless. What should I do?
Also I am moving out in six months... I am seventeen right now
Chances are your mother knows that your step-dad is using drugs. If you found the drugs that easily I'm sure she knows. Women are very intuitive. And from what you're saying she sounds like an enabler. She's an adult and its obvious that you can't make her listen to you. I would continue to move out and be there to support your mother as much as possible. Your step-dad will not stop using until he has hit rock bottom.
