the A string keeps coming off the nut on my bass guitar?
any way i can fix this?
It may not be wound correctly around the tuner, or the nut/notch is worn.
Check that the string is coming from the nut to the bottom of the tuner (not over the top) and is wound around the far side, and that it is coiling correctly as in this pic... http://www.learntheguitarnow.com/img/public/guitar-peg.jpg
If all that is good, take the string off and inspect the notch to see if it is worn. You may need that repaired/replaced. Also check the string where it meets the nut, if it is old and worn that could be the cause as well.
