iPad 2+ZAGG keyboard case for college? good idea or no.?
I am going to BYU in the fall. I am a mormon so as per the norm i leave on my mission next summer. so that leaves me with 1 full year of college. i am definitely not going to buy a laptop because when i return in three years from now, the laptop technology will have progressed a ton, and i will buy one then when i get back. so for the mean time i was thinking just getting an iPad and a zagg case that has a Bluetooth keyboard for taking notes, keeping a schedule, etc. so any suggestions, tips, thoughts? most helpful answer gets 10 points!
You have good thinking on the laptop situation, but the iPad which sells for about $500 should fall under the same category.
BYU rents desktop computers to students for $12 a month if you're living on campus. ($15 off campus.) They're quality computers and serve your needs, except for taking notes in class. If you're really after the frugal/economic ideal, that's your option.
However, if you really believe you can't survive in your classes without taking notes on an electronic device, you may as well do what the other people are suggesting--buy a really cheap laptop that can at least do word processing.
