Is the Ibanez rg370dx meant for a certain tuning?
I bought an Ibanez rg370dx with the floating trem and lock nut system. And I was wondering if due to the slim neck if it was "meant" to be tuned into drop D only to avoid the neck bowing. Or can I put it into standard tuning without any problems.An employee at a music store told me it was "meant for drop D only....."
That would be one bizarre guitar! The higher-pitch strings apply more pressure; the low E string has less bearing on overall pressure. Besides, what good is a guitar you can only tune to drop-D? Ibanez brags that this model is especially stable for whammy bar use, which means it's supposed to handle the pressure very well. Good-lookin' ax. (Find a different salesperson.)
